West Fraser moves to permanently close Perry sawmill

In a recent development, West Fraser  has confirmed the permanent closure of its sawmill located in Perry, Florida. The decision comes after the initial announcement in January 2023 to indefinitely curtail operations at the Perry Sawmill due to high fiber costs and a challenging lumber market. Joyce Wagenaar, the company's director of communications, stated in an email to ABC 27, "West Fraser is now moving to permanently close the mill by the end of March."
