Swedish sawmill groups Vida (owned by the Canadian timber giant Canfor) and Södra have announced temporary production stoppages at all their sawmills due to record-high timber prices and raw material shortages. The shutdowns highlight ongoing pressures in the Swedish roundwood market, which has seen significant price increases in recent months.
