Swedish sawmills should avoid effects from global falling demand for pine lumber
Swedish sawmills and wood-processing companies are operating at high activity levels due to a high demand on the global market. In 2017, total global production of wood products increased to a record high of 335 million cubic metres.    Johan Freij, President of Danske Bank Forestry & Farming, explained to Swedish media that the high demand is largely driven by the Chinese market.
