Last month, the ship MS Saga Faith, loaded with lumber in the amount of more than 65 thousand cubic meters, sailed from the coast of Sweden to the United States.
The vessel left the Swedish port of Karlshamn on January 17, having 65,417 m³ of softwood boards on board.
The largest private sawmill group Vida AB in Sweden is the exporter, which claims that this is the largest ever shipment of lumber that has left the country.
According to current import and export data, from January to October 2019, Sweden exported a total of 369,573 m³ of softwood lumber to the United States. This is approximately 18% more than in the same period of the previous year. In total, a year earlier the United States imported about 371,000 m³ from Sweden.
