Segezha Group to increase wood pellet production

At the industrial site of JSC Lesosibirsky LDK No. 1, the Russian Segezha Group launched the second phase of the Xylotech-Sibir LLC pellet plant. 

Thus, the total capacity of the company’s pellet production was increased to 110.5 thousand tons of wood pellets per year.

The first stage of the construction of the third line with a capacity of 30 thousand tons per year lasted from August to December 2019 . Now, the third pellet mill with a capacity of 4.5 tons of fuel pellets per hour was put into operation.

Equipment for the second, final, construction phase was received at the plant on March 3 this year. Specialists of Lesosibirsky LDK No. 1 JSC started its installation in parallel with the unloading and transportation of line units. The work was carried out for one month by the plant’s own forces without stopping the existing production and dismantling of buildings, with the participation of representatives of the Estonian company - equipment manufacturer Hekotek.

The launch of the first two technological lines for the production of wood pellets with a capacity of 70 thousand tons of finished products at the industrial site of Xylotec-Siberia LLC as part of Lesosibirsky LDK No. 1 took place in December 2018.

The equipment is intended for the manufacture of pellets with a diameter of 6 and 8 mm from waste from the production and processing of lumber - sawdust of natural moisture, as well as wood chips.

Currently, three container trains are shipped monthly in Lesosibirsk to be sent to the Baltic ports and further transported to the EU countries, primarily Denmark.
