  On January 1, 2022, a complete ban on the export of unprocessed or roughly processed timber of softwood and valuable hardwood species came into force. The ban has been introduced by order of the Russian President Vladimir Putin back in September 2020.  Then the president sharply criticized the state of the timber industry in Russia and especially in the Far East.  In addition to the ban, the president demanded the creation and launch of a unified information system of the forestry complex, as well as an electronic forest register for all regions of Russia ...
