Polish woodworking companies are ready to invest in pellet plants in Belarus.
Prospects for advancing Belarusian-Polish cooperation in woodworking and procurement of raw materials for pellet production were in focus of a roundtable that was held at the National Investment and Privatization Agency on 26 November.
Taking part in the event were representatives of Polish woodworking companies, the Polish National Energy Conservation Agency (KAPE), the Polish Pellet Council, the Polish Embassy in Belarus, the Belarusian Forestry Ministry, the Belarusian enterprise Bellesexport, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“Heads of several Polish companies expressed interest in implementing joint projects to produce wood pellets and briquettes that are considered one of the most eco-friendly types of fuel and enjoy a strong demand in the European Union,” spokesman of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) Roman Yaniv said.
