Metsä prepares layoffs at three sawmills

Through change negotiations, the company is preparing for layoffs of the entire personnel. Metsä Fibre, responsible for Metsä Group's pulp and sawmill business, will begin change negotiations regarding possible 90-day layoffs at the company's Lappeenranta, Renko and Vilppula sawmills this year. The change negotiations concern the entire staff of the sawmills, approximately 245 people. Of the company's four sawmills, the Rauma sawmill is not mentioned in the release. According to Metsä Fibre, the change negotiations are intended to prepare for a possible temporary restriction of production due to the order backlog and ...
