The EU countries have increased their exports by almost 50% this year, as the country's economy is overall improving and there is a strong demand in the country’s furniture manufacturing industry.
According to the latest Eurostat figures, in January-June 2019, EU's softwood lumber exports to Egypt increased by 46% over the same period of 2018.
Finland has exported most of the total European volume, with a share of 50% of all European exports, followed by Sweden and Latvia.
Finland and Sweden accounted for more than 91% of the overall EU exports. Year-on-year, Finnish exports increased by 36%, while Swedish softwood lumber shipments to Egypt rose by 65% (See table below).
