Latvian sawmills reduce production; sawlog prices fall in October
    As a result of overproduction, Latvian timber prices have fallen slightly, perhaps temporarily. Average pulpwood prices fell an average of 2% in October. Prices continued to fall in the large and medium softwood lumber segment.    The latter is mainly due to a fall in the production of construction materials. According to the latest data from the Latvian Central Statistical Office over the past nine months, manufacturing has fallen by 12.5%.
