Net sales of the Swedish wood flooring manufacturer Kährs totalled SEK 667 million in the fourth quarter of 2015 (Q4/2014: 667 million).
A weak trend in Russia and Finland was offset by good growth in Sweden as well as in several Central European markets, Kährs Group reported in a press realease
Kährs Group's operating profit before depreciation, amortization and non-recurring items (adjusted EBITDA) was SEK 83 million (Q4/2014: 80), corresponding to an operating margin of 12.4 percent (Q4/2014: 12.0) and a profit increase of 4 percent compared with the fourth quarter of 2014.
The new full-scale parquet factory in Romania was completed and opened during the fourth quarter.
January – December 2015
Kährs Group's net sales for the full period January – December amounted to SEK 2,724 million (2014: 2,595), an increase of 5 percent compared with the previous year. Calculated in local currencies, sales growth was 4 percent
Kährs Group's operating profit before depreciation, amortization and non-recurring items (adjusted EBITDA) for the period was SEK 314 million (2014: 261), corresponding to an operating margin of 11.5 percent (2014: 10.1)
President and CEO Christer Persson commented on the results: ”Conditions on our core markets are generally positive, with good growth in the construction and renovation market. In hardwood flooring we saw good growth in our core markets Sweden, Germany, the UK and the US and our resilient flooring business showed a positive development with a growth rate of 18 percent in the quarter. "
