The Ziegler Group is building a pellet plant in the Döllnitz industrial area at the Pressath location, which, with an initial capacity of around 200,000 t / year, will be the largest plant of its kind in Europe to date. Completion is planned for the third quarter of 2021.
The plant will be built in the vicinity of the planing mill of the former Konrad Dippel eK, now the Holz-Zentrum Ziegler, which was taken over in July 2017. The raw materials are supplied accordingly via wood shavings from the neighboring plant as well as sawdust and wood shavings from the sawmill in Plößberg, where Ziegler processes almost 2 million cubic meters of softwood every year and also produces around 0.5 million m³ of planed goods.
In a first step, the construction of two warehouses with external dimensions of 50x50 m and a height of 8 m has already started this month. At the same time, preparations for the construction of the pellet plant are already underway.
According to the company, Salmatec and Rematec are the main suppliers for the system.
