German forests suffering, their conversion is urgent

On March 21, 2023, the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture published the annual report on the state of German forests on its website. The latter are suffering with 80% of trees impacted by the effects of climate change, to varying degrees. In particular, the drought and high temperatures of last summer continued to seriously affect the forests. The rainy months at the beginning of the year and in autumn could not compensate for the water deficit of the forest soils.
