Georgia-Pacific’s Pineland expansion project results in largest sawmill in the South

With the recent completion of a $120 million expansion, Georgia-Pacific says the East Texas mill is now the largest sawmill in the south. On June 21, the local forest products manufacturer cut the ribbon on its newest sawmill that has the capacity to produce 450 million board feet of lumber annually — which is equivalent to the amount of lumber needed to build 30,000 houses.
