Floods may affect timber production in western Germany
Heavy rains in western Europe caused floods to hit Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Germany and other countries. In Germany alone, at least 105 people were killed in the two western states. In the hard-hit Rhineland-Palatinate region of Ahrweiler, 1,300 people are still unaccounted for.    At least 165,000 people are currently out of power in Rhineland-Palatinate and neighboring North Rhine-Westphalia.
