In the period from January to May 2024, European softwood lumber exports to the United States dropped both in volume terms as well as in value. The export prices were a bit higher (see table below), but there is no noticeable upward trend, reflecting the stagnation of the US lumber market. Overall, the volume of softwood lumber exports from the European Union to the US decreased by 8%. German exports fell by 10%, while Swedish exports increased by 9%.
