Czech Republic plans to boost use of wood in construction industry

Less concrete, more wood. Czech Republic plans to support greater use of wood in the construction industry. Up to a quarter of newly constructed buildings could be made of wood in 2035, according to the ministries' plans. The state wants to process the strategic commodity, which today is mainly used as fuel or exported abroad, at home and thus increase its added value. The Ministry of Agriculture, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of the Environment, prepared a strategic document "Raw Materials Policy for Wood", which will soon be discussed by the entire government ...
