China’s softwood lumber imports down 13% in 2022; prices rise
In 2022, China’s imports of softwood lumber decreased 13% year-on-year to 16,7 million m3. The value of imports lost 10% to $4 billion. Average price of softwood lumber gained 4% to $234 per m3. Russia’s share amounted to 71% of China’s total softwood lumber imports in 2022.
