Biewer Lumber has announced that its newest sawmill, located in Newton, Miss., is officially up and running. The state-of-the-art sawmill began shipping January 19. Biewer – Newton, LLC will produce an estimated 250 million board feet per year, with a focus on dimensional lumber and timbers. Total investment in the sawmill amounted to US85 million. With this new production, the mill will allow Biewer to expand mill production in the South -- an area with abundant fiber supply -- with strong support from both local and state government. ...
