The sluggish sales of sawn timber in Austria are slowly being felt in the roundwood market as well. Especially in the south of Austria, demand has decreased significantly due to current above-average stockpiling of spruce sawlogs and expectations of additional quantities of beetle-damaged wood. In addition to weather-related transport restrictions, uptake is limited by quota restrictions.
