UPM Plywood’s profitability hits record high in 2021
In 2021, sales of plywood by the Finnish forestry group UPM-Kymmene increased by 8% year-on-year to 738,000 m³. As a result, the losses associated with the coronavirus pandemic recorded in 2020 were almost completely compensated.    For comparison, in 2019, the plywood business unit sold a total of 739,000 m³. However, plywood sales in 2020 were significantly lower than the peaks of 2017 and 2018 – 811 thousand m³ and 791 thousand m³, respectively.    Strong demand has also allowed UPM Plywood to raise prices in 2021. As a result ...
