During January-April 2020 Russia’s export of lumber exports reached made 5.7 million tons, down 9.6% year-on-year.
According to the Russian Federal Customs Service’s statistics (Rosstat), in terms of value, lumber export was down 8.9% making $1.3 billion.
Logs export decreased by 23.6% year-on-year down to 3.9 million m3 worth $271.8 million, down 29.6% year-on-year.
Plywood export increased by 9.5% year-on-year to make 974.2 thousand m3 worth $385 million, down 3.6% year-on-year.
Wood pulp export in January-April 2020 amounted to 767.6 thousand tons, up 8.3% year-on-year worth $325.5 million, down 18.4% year-on-year.
Newsprint export made 386.4 thousand tons, down 9.7% year-on-year, worth $133.9 million, down 38.1% year-on-year.
In April alone, lumber export made 1.6 million tons, down 15.5% year-on-year and up 6.8% month-on-month worth $371.2 million, down 16.8% year-on-year and up 7.9% month-on-month.
Logs export made 968.7 thousand m3, down 23.4% year-on-year and down 24.2% month-on-month. In terms of value, it decreased by 28.4% year-on-year and by 23.9% month-on-month to make $69.4 million.
Plywood export in April made 242.4 thousand cbm, up 5.6% year-on-year and down 8.6% month-on-month. In terms of value, it increased by 2.1% year-on-year and declined by 4.5% month-on-month making $101.1 mn.
Wood pulp export made 215.6 thousand tons, up 15.4% year-on-year and up 12.8% month-on-month. In terms of value, wood pulp export decreased by 8.3% year-on-year and increased by 23.4% month-on-month to make $96.6 million.
Newsprint export declined by 29.9% year-on-year and by 19.4% month-on-month to make 88 thousand tons in terms of tonnage. In terms of value, it was down 51.3% year-on-year and down 22.4% month-to-month to $29.5 million.
