Södra adjusts the prices for pulpwood due to oversupply

The supply of pulp in Sweden and in the rest of Europe is high, which has led to high inventories in the industry.  The supply of industrial logs is driven by a high volume of wood and an unusually high proportion of pulpwood, both due to the bark beetle infestation.

The global economy continues to show signs of a slowdown, which together with the high supply volume will lead to a further decline in market prices for pulp.

The Swedish forest and timber group Södra has therefore made the following price adjustments:

Softwood and hardwood pulp: minus 20 SEK / m³ Fub

Special range 1600: minus 20 SEK / m³ fub (both sawn and fiber wood)

The price adjustment includes all softwood and pulp ranges, which vary slightly depending on the range and quality class. The residual wood price remains unchanged.
