Moelven Pellets A/S started trial production at Sokna, Eastern Norway following the commissioning of a new energy centre and pellet factory. The first pellet deliveries took place in October.
The pellet plant has a production capacity of 80,000 tons of wood pellets a year and uses as a raw material sawing residues, sawdust, and chips, from their own sawmill.
The leading suppliers of equipment were Hekotek Ltd. Stela Laxhuber GmbH which delivered a belt dryer for drying of sawdust, and CPM Europe B.V. which delivered three pellet presses. The wooden pellets are stored in silos, which are fitted for truck loading for end users.
As previously announced by GWMI, SCA will take over the entire pellet production of the future 80,000 t plant of Moelven Pellets.
The collaboration will provide SCA with a long-term and exclusive supply agreement of the entire production volume from Moelven Pellet’s factory in Sokna.
