Biewer Sawmill – Newton, LLC. announced the expansion of their state-of-the-art sawmill facility located in Newton, Mississippi.
This $40 million facility expansion will increase sawmill production by over 100 MMBF per year.
The updated facility includes an expanded woodyard, a third continuous kiln, a stacker and a third strapper; all designed to support the addition of a second sawline.
Mill expansion is expected to be fully completed by the fall of 2019.
Biewer Lumber opened state-of-the-art sawmill in Newton, Mississippi back in April 2017 following a US$ 85 million investment.
Headquartered in St. Clair, Michigan, Biewer Lumber’s current operating structure includes five sawmills, three pressure-treating plants and a full-service logistics fleet. Biewer Lumber manufactures and distributes lumber and building materials for use by contractors, builders, and do-it-yourselfers. Biewer customers include retail lumber yards, home centers, and manufacturers throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada.
