Booming lumber prices in the US cover duties on Canadian softwood

The American lumber consumers are starting to feel the effects of the import duties on Canadian softwood.     The strong demand for wood and the record market prices that have taken place one after the US imposed the tariffs on Canadian softwood lumber still hasn't affected the Canadian producers.    In 2017, Canadian lumber producers handed over more than $200 million to the U.S. government to cover duties of about 20 per cent of the value of all exports and with no sign a deal will be struck to end the dispute ...
