European parquet market hit by slow construction activity and Chinese imports

European parquet consumption continued to decrease during the three first quarters of 2024 but at a slowing pace, reflecting the still subdued construction activity and increased pressure from Chinese imports. The Board of Directors of the European Parquet Federation, FEP, met on 23 October 2024, and discussed amongst others the parquet situation on the European markets. Parquet markets fell in almost all FEP countries during the three first quarters 2024 compared to the same period last year, echoing the still subdued activity in the construction sector. As consumers’ purchasing power has been hit, cheaper alternatives such as ...
