Austria: Sawlog prices facing downward pressure due to market saturation

The Austrian sawmill industry is well stocked with softwood logs, and the market is saturated regionally. The early April foehn storm resulted in significant amounts of damaged timber, particularly in Styria. Despite the demand for wood from buyers, this calamity-induced increased flow of quantities dampens the demand and also makes timber transportation challenging regionally. Prices are under pressure and have already been reduced regionally.
