According to official operational data from Rosstat, in 2023 the volume of production of softwood and hardwood lumber in Russia decreased by 4.5% y/y. Thus, lumber production shows a decline for the second year in a row. However, the pace of decline is slowing: in 2022, production decreased by 10% y/y. Taking into account additional estimates (Rosstat does not collect data on SMEs), the production volume in 2023 can be estimated at 38.9 million m³.
