Poland to limit logging up to 20-30% in 2024

The forestry and wood industry in Poland must prepare for significant restrictions under the new government. Environment Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska announced that she would limit the logging planned for 2024 in the most important forests in the country. Hennig-Kloska explained that the main reasons for this action are the protection of valuable forests, the preservation of forests around urban centers and spa forests, as well as the lack of forest districts. She also referred to obligations towards the European Union, in particular resulting from environmental directives and the 2030 biodiversity strategy.
