European softwood lumber exports to US see sharp price drop

In January-September 2023, the European softwood lumber exports to the United States recorded a more pronounced fall in export value, than in volume, due to the overall -44% decrease in the average export prices. Comparing the data, it is observed that the volume of European softwood lumber exports from January to September 2023 decreased among the key exporting countries. German exports were flat in volume 1.6 million cubic meters, while its export value decreased by 39% to 423 million EUR.
