The mood in the German wood industry remained cloudy in September 2023. Although companies were somewhat more satisfied with the current business situation than in the previous month, expectations continued to deteriorate. The German wood industry was skeptical about the next six months given the collapse in construction demand, the weak consumer climate and the increasingly dwindling order backlog.
