China’s imported softwood lumber prices increased by nearly 50%

In August, the volume of imported logs to China was 2.6842 million cubic meters, a year-on-year decrease of 26%. The import value decreased by 33.4 billion yuan (43.42 million euros), down 33.1% compared to the previous year. Imported softwood lumber also experienced its first negative growth after the Chinese New Year holiday this year, declining by 9.7%.
